September/October Special: The Afterburner normally priced
at $389, now on sale for $249.00 The Afterburner is a device which allows dual level boost control at the push of a button. The Afterburner used in conjunction with our wastegate gives a driver the ability to adjust the boost as low as 7 pounds and as high as 24. Visit our web sight to view a dyno chart which illustrates the drastic jump you feel when the secondary boost stage is activated. The blue dyno run shows a normal pull at 15 pounds of boost. The red dyno run shows the Afterburner with a 13 pound primary setting with a 17 pound secondary. The Afterburner was activated at 4200 RPM, just as the engine was pulling hard, see the HP line take a near vertical jump. The engine was suddenly producing an additional 60 HP by 4400 RPM. The total HP at the 17 pound boost level would be there whether you had an Afterburner or not, this simply illustrates how fast the engine reacts to the higher boost setting. Imagine how valuable it would be to have an additional 60 to 75 HP available at the push of a button, kind of like having a Nitrous system in you car, only this one never needs refilling! *** NEW **** CYLINDER HEADS: Lindsey Racing is now offering performance modifications to the 944 turbo cylinder head. Visit the web sight to see a price breakdown on the different options available. Everything from 5 angle competition valve jobs, competition port and polish, O-ring and Ceramic Thermal Barrier coating the combustion chamber. When you call Lindsey Racing for cylinder head work, we will quote you flow numbers on our porting, unlike the competition! Heads will be available and ready for immediate shipping. PROTRAC DEALER: Researching a suspension purchase for our race car led us down a path that we had not planned on at the time. We looked at most all the choices. We discussed each with the different vendors of the different brands. We sat back and listened to the pros and cons. We were so happy with our final choice, that we just had to make a commitment to the company for a long term relationship. Having said that... Lindsey Racing is proud to announce that they are now one of a very few dealers in the USA for Protrac Damper Technology. Protrac is on the cutting edge of technology in the racing shock absorber field. They make single, double and triple adjustable shocks and struts. The double and triple have remote reservoir, for the following cars: Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Cross cars, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Honda Civic, Integra, Lexus GS 400 , IS 300, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, 911, 924, 944, 964, 993, 996, TransAm cars, Circle Track cars, Volkswagen. Protrac was founded when the three owners of "JRZ" split up. One stayed and retained JRZ and the others each started their own companies. The "R" of JRZ, Rob de Rijk, started Protrac and was formerly both the co-founder and engineer for the original company and has made several improvements in the design which he now owns exclusive rights. All shocks and struts are on a custom order basis with normal delivery time is 2-3 weeks. Lindsey Racing is currently installing a set of double adjustable units on our own race car and will be able to report directly as to their performance on the track. MASS AIR FLOW: Developed and manufactured by Pro Flow for Lindsey racing. Pro Flow (who also makes the Authority MAF for them) incorporates the latest technology into our unit which is specially designed to work with your Porsche car. We asked them to take their ‘Optimizer' technology and adapt it for use on the Porsche. The primary reason for some MAF units to run special software is that the software is where the voltage values for the Hot wire sensor are changed so the computer understands what the Hot wire is telling it. We wanted our unit to work with the car's existing software, so Pro Flow incorporated a custom control unit for Lindsey Racing that not only adjusts the fuel mixture but also makes the voltage value change there so the signal going to the computer is the same as it was originally receiving. Our MAF has remote fuel adjustability for both idle mixture and high load conditions, it will deliver maximum airflow and will work with your existing software! A very unique feature about our MAF is that it has in it a "VAT" air temp sensor along with the hot wire sensor. The air temp sensor in the factory vane air meter does more than help to measure the air density. By telling the computer what the air temperature is, it adjusts fuel and timing for start up and warm up stages of the engine. Other systems program a nominal temp setting into their software, but the engine only runs correctly when the engine is at this operating temperature, not necessarily during start-up and warm-up. For street use, this can be a serious concern. Others tap into the engine's water temp sensor, this too does not give the computer the correct air temp so it can correctly adjust the engine controls. Only Lindsey Racing's MAF kit provides you this ability along with the fuel mixture control of the MAC II. We are offering our MAF in three different configurations: Stage I: Will be installed in the stock air inlet hose similar to the stock air-flow meter. The stage I kit will come with a conical air filter, all mounting hardware and clamps, and best of all; it will include our Injector/Air Flow Meter. Stage II: Will be installed on a power tube that goes between the MAF and the Turbo which adds additional HP gains. The stage II kit will also come with a conical air filter, all mounting hardware and clamps, and will include our Injector/Air Flow Meter. Stage III: This kit is currently offered on a custom order basis and is intended for use on race cars. The air cleaner sits in the location of the left headlight and requires use of a one piece header panel. Again this kit comes with all mounting hardware and includes our Injector/Air Fuel Meter. 1986 944 Turbo Big Red Brake Upgrade: Lindsey Racing has designed a custom ‘Hat' for use on the 1986 944 Turbo big Red brake conversion. Very few companies even offer brake kits for the 944 Turbo cars and only a special few even want to get involved with the 86 model. In the past, special machining was required to the front bearing hub along with the installation of longer studs. We have designed a hat which does not require any of this. It will allow you to bolt the rotor directly to the hub and makes the installation on this year of vehicle much easier and believe it or not, less costly than the later year cars. These special components are currently being manufactured and should be ready for shipment mid October. 944T WASTEGATE: We need to announce a policy change regarding our Wastegate upgrade. We are now charging $300 for our core charge. Several of our customers have neglected to return their cores to us and we are forced to purchase new ones when this happens. We are having to pay more for our cores so we are passing that cost on to our customers that don't return the core back to us. This means nothing to those of you that do return the required core. Another matter to inform you of is our new policy regarding broken bolts and studs on your core return. If you have the misfortune of breaking off one or more bolts in removing your old wastegate, we are now charging for removing the remaining broken material. The rate is $20 for the first stud and $10 for each additional one. This is our cost that we pay a local shop to burn out the old stud and are simply passing this cost back to the consumer. This usually only applies to studs that are broken off flush with the mounting surface, if there is ½ inch of studs sticking out, we can usually remove it ourselves. This cost will be deducted from your core charge. We are sorry for this new policy but we can not longer absorb this cost ourselves. Fiberglass: Believe it or not, we are in the final stages of fitting the wing to our race car. Mounting hardware is being fabricated and by this coming weekend we should have it mounted and be able to start taking pictures so you can see how this is looking. Our intention is to offer a wing configuration for both street and race applications utilizing several different wing designs. Our own car will start out with the ‘swept wing' originally seen on the Dodge Vipers. Initially this wing will be offered only in fiberglass. We will also offer a 60 and 70 inch straight wing. These will be available in both fiberglass and carbon fiber construction. We are in early development stages of designing our own rocker panels. Also a pair of dive planes which can attach to the side of your front bumper to aid in down force to the front of the car. These will be offered in styles that work with and without a splitter. Many more custom body ideas are being considered and it is only a matter of available time to develop these ideas. Now that we have a mold shop that can help us in our endeavors, future product development won't take as long as our wing design did. This was a very complicated component involving 12 molds and many internal components. We will continue to update you as things progress. Mike Lindsey LINDSEY RACING |
