CONNECTING ROD / MISCELLANEOUSIf you're sticking with your stock connecting rods, it's recommended that you change the rod nuts every time you remove the end cap. This is due to the sharp serrations on the nut face that get dulled when removed. This reduces their ability to stay tight. Think of them as a built in lock washer that loses it's ability to lock.We also have Upgraded Rod Bolt & Nut kits by Raceware. When using them, you should have the big end of the rod re-sized after installation of the bolts. Seek professional help from an engine machine shop or you can send your stock connecting rods to us for the work. |
