This is an original 1988 DP Motorsport slantnose turbo cabriolet, one of the last ones they ever made. This Porsche is in a class of its own, it is extremely rare. DP imported these ultra modified Porsches into the U.S. during the '80s. Most of the conversions were performed on Euro spec coupe Porsches, making them 'grey market' cars. This DP conversion was performed on an American spec cabriolet, making it thus even more scarce. It is believed that DP only made a handful of the turbo cab varieties, this possibly being the only example of an American spec turbo cab.
It has too many DP mods too list, but here is a short list of what they did. DP did all the bodywork including new 3 stage metallic paint, custom 2-tone interior and DP gauges, and numerous performance upgrades. This car puts out about 450hp and is an absolute thrill to drive. There are 15000 miles on the clock, and it is in concours condition. The most recent modification I added was done by Lindsey Racing. They custom made a set of 3 piece 17" Fuchs which they refer to as 'P3s'. The sizes are 17x8.5 up front, and a massive 17x11.5 in the rear with a huge deep dish look. Lindsey color matched the Original paint Venetian Blue Metallic to the centers of the wheels. It is an exact match!!! They look Beautiful!!!
