LR / MAX PERFORMANCE CHIPSLindsey Racing has teamed up with MAX's Russell Berry to bring you the best chip sets for your 944 Turbo, 944, 944S, 944S2 and 968. Together, we have further advanced his chip sets by doing dyno and real world testing. 951 CHIPSIt's not enough create the chips and measure the performance on the dyno. We go further than that. Further than anybody else does. From there, we do "real world" testing and final adjustment. You see... the car does not act the same on the dyno as it does on the street or track. The loading is too different between the two. So we have on board data logging capability to measure A/F Ratio, MAF Voltage, TPS, RPM, Vac/Boost, Ignition Timing, Acceleration, Exhaust Pressure and Injector Duty Cycle. We can fine tune the chips beyond anything that can be done on the dyno because we can seek out and find those areas that don't appear there. Since you don't drive or race your car on the dyno, we're sure you can appreciate and benefit from that fact. These same chip sets are now supplied with all Lindsey Racing performance packages such as our 278 or 340 RWHP kits or larger custom tailored kits. These chips when used with our kits have taken almost all the tuning out of the equation. Kits using our Mafterburner or Power Perfect fuel controller will only require fine tuning. This is because there are mechanical differences between one engine and another, electronic differences such as MAF meter calibration and differences in actual injector flow which will likely make fine tuning required. Below you see a dyno-jet dyno chart from a 1989 Turbo S producing 278 RWHP and an amazing 339.3 Ft. Lbs. of torque at 20psi of boost with 93/94 octane pump gasoline. The same chip set made 275.2 RWHP and a very impressive 304 Ft. Lbs. of torque at 15.5 psi of boost on the same fuel. You could use a lesser octane at this level. Modifications on the car was limited to a 3" exhaust, a Lindsey Racing Boost Enhancer, and a shimmed wastegate. When we added a 4" exhaust and Dual Port Wastegate, the performance was even greater producing 304 RWHP and 345 Ft. Lbs of Torque. 944S2 CHIPThe 944S2MAX chip is designed to enhance your driving experience. Factored in are characteristics of the 3.0L 16 Valve engine and driver input, along with Dyno testing to provide a better power band and smoother performance. From idle to full throttle this chip provides clearly better performance above stock chips with an average power gain of 8-10RWHP. 944S CHIPThe new 944SMAX chip is designed to enhance your driving experience. We have factored the characteristics of the 2.5L 16 Valve engine and driver input, along with Dyno testing to provide a better power band and smoother performance. From idle to full throttle this chip provides clearly better performance above stock chips with an average gain of 4-6RWHP. The chart shows the stock chip versus the LR/944SMAX chip. On the dyno we gained 5HP over stock, but you can easily see that the torque curve comes in 100 RPM sooner and 2Lbs higher at 3500-4000 rpm, and holds again 4Lbs higher at over 200 rpm sooner from 4000 rpm to peak at 4500 rpm, 200 rpm before stock peak. From there the torque curve holds 4-6Lbs over stock all the way to redline. The run was to 6500 rpm but this chart only shows to 6050 for some reason, but you can see as the HP and TQ lines are leaving the chart they are spreading even farther from stock to redline. You will have 5-6Lbs. of torque over stock to redline. This car doesn't run out of steam. 944 '85/2-'88 CHIPThis fits the 944 8v 2.5L engine found in the '85/2 and later 944 and the '87-'88 924S. Below is a chart from a completely stock 1987 944NA 2.5L 8v. The Red/Blue lines are stock, the black and green our 944 MAX chip. The chart shows a peak gain of 7RWHP, but note the TQ from 4400 to 6000 RPM. In this area you see as much as 12RWHP over stock. This further illustrates peak numbers aren't everything, area under the curve is what it's all about. 944 89 2.7LNow available and shipping! 968 CHIPThe new 968MAX chip is designed to enhance your driving experience. We have factored the characteristics of the 968 engine and driver input, along with Dyno testing to provide a better power band and smoother performance. From idle to full throttle this chip provides clearly better performance above stock chips with an average power gain of 10-18RWHP. Refer to our Tech Garage to for chip installation instructions. |
