LINDSEY RACING "944 MAF" MASS AIR FLOW METER KIT for 944 8v NA models.

The 944 MAF brings real MAF conversion for the 944NA (all 8-valve variants). Like the 944 Turbo, the 944NA uses a very restrictive air-flow-meter (AFM) from the factory. In-fact, the AFM in the 944NA is even more restrictive than the one used in the turbo cars! The 944 MAF changes this, offering many advantages:

This newly redesigned kit uses a fully machined one piece intake tube. Made from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized for corrosion protection. The internal design on this tube takes the rectangular hole on the air box inlet flange and blends or transitions that into a circular hole at the J-Boot. This is done to provide a clear air stream past the Mass Air Flow sensor.

Aside from the 12v power wire that needs to be attached to the ignition coil, this kit is as Plug & Play as it gets if you already have a 28 pin DME (the computer or ECU). The supplied wiring harness connects directly into the old Air Flow Meter plug on your engine harness eliminating any complicated wiring to be performed.

This kit fits the stock J-Boot or the replacement Lindsey Racing Silicone 944 8v J-Boot.

This 944 MAF Tune DOES require that you have a 28 pin DME. Generally 28 pin DME's were found on the '88 and '89 944. For them, you simply swap out the current DME chip for the supplied Chip & Chip Board assembly.

For those with a sheet metal lid 24 pin DME, generally found on '85/2 through '87 944's, you will be required to convert your DME to a 28 pin configuration. We can either supply you the parts for this conversion of you can send your DME to Lindsey Racing and we can perform the conversion for you. Then the supplied Chip & Chip Board assembly can be plugged in.

For those with a aluminum with screwed on lid DME, generally found on '83 through '85/1 944's, this DME is not usable. It has a soldered in 24 pin chip and there are no provisions to add extra pins to the chip socket. You will need to find one of the DME's mentioned above from a '85'2 thru '89 car to make this kit work on your pre '85/2 car.

944 NA 2.5L 8v '82 to '85/1 NOTE: Because the chip is soldered in place, you need a '85/2 or later DME. 24 pin will need converting to 28 pin socket and the 28 pin DME is good to go.
944 NA 2.5L 8v '85/2 to '87 NOTE: 24 to 28 pin DME chip socket conversion is required. This can be preformed by Lindsey Racing for $50.00 or parts purchased to DO IT YOURSELF.
