"CLUBGATE" WASTEGATEThe first and only approved replacement wastegate for the 944 Turbo approved by Porsche Club of America's PCA Club Racing rules department for use in stock classes. We received word of it's acceptance August 6th, 2002. So from this point out, you can run this on your 944T without being penalized. Why did we do this? Read on... Featuring:
If you're running in a stock prepared class, you're faced with using a stock wastegate. Since they are a minimum of 13 years old, chances are it is getting very tired. The springs weaken, the diaphragms harden and tear, and the valve seats crack. Since these are not serviceable items, your choices were to either purchase a new one from Porsche for $1200.00, or cross your fingers and buy one from a re-cycler and hope it's better than the one you're replacing. Until now! Lindsey Racing has kept the internal dimensions the same as the stock wastegate. The new spring has the same rate, utilizes the same piston and valve, travel of the valve is unchanged, and the in and out flow of exhaust are identical in every way. PCA Club racing is interested in keeping club racing affordable. This made the Lindsey CLUBGATE a simple and smart decision. We require you to return your old wastegate to us for processing. We have a core charge that is fully refunded when we receive your old unit providing it's complete and a rebuild-able candidate. A charge may be accessed for broken studs or missing parts. Or you can send us yours in advance for a "no core charge" exchange. The wastegate is able to be installed by the user with a few basic tools in about an hour. Look at our on-line wastegate installation instructions to see how easy it is. There is a slight difference between the early ('86/'87) wastegate and the '88 and later models. It is limited to the shape of the cooling fins and diaphragm bolt flange area. All other dimensions and components are the same. Both styles are interchangeable. We prefer you order for the year of your car. Note:Due to the increasing number of cores coming back with broken bolts and studs, we are initiating a machining charge for removing difficult broken hardware. Let us clarify. Broken studs and bolts that are still protruding up from the wastegate should be left alone. We have great luck removing them and will not charge you for this if we can successfully remove them in-house. You will likely snap them off so "please" don't try it. If we cannot remove them, then we job it out to have it machined. If this happens, we have a $10.00 charge for each stud or bolt. This charge will be taken out of your core refund. We will not refund core deposits on wastegates that are not complete with hot housing, diaphragm housing and valve. We regret the need for this, but this is an expense that can no longer be absorbed by the company. Thank you for your understanding. We do our best to recover your entire deposit if at all possible and usually do. Wastegate Installation Instructions. Please be cautious and check the CORE for cracks before sending them to Lindsey Racing. The Cores cannot be used with this damage. |
