What is a QUALIFIED CORE? Cores must be the type with the Sheet Metal Lid with folding tabs. These are found in '85'/2 and later model
944's and 944 Turbos. Cast Aluninum DME's with Screw attached lids are NOT acceptable as a CORE.

Q: I have a 1984 2.5 L manual 5 speed 944 NA … what Upgrade DME exactly works on this year model and what do I need to give you as a core that’s acceptable ?
A: You can use either the Sport or Sport w/OBD. You will also need to obtain a Air Flow Meter (AFM) from a '85/2 thru 88 car. The 0-5v output voltage is required on these DME's. Yours is 0-12v. We cannot accept your early DME. The few parts re-used to make the new ones are not in yours. So you would either pay and lose the core charge, or purchase and send in a late DME.
