Tips, Manuals and Instruction
OIL PAN BAFFLE KIT INSTALLIn these pictures, we have already removed the factory black plastic baffle/crank scraper. It should be re-installed after our baffle is welded in place. They are meant to work together. The oil pan baffle is positioned as you see in these pictures. The flapper door swings towards the pick up tube and away from the drain plug hole. The baffle stands up vertically (90 degrees from the floor) from the base of the pan.
The baffle should be placed 2" (50mm) from the "outside" of the oil pan where the sealing surface of the drain plug is. So measure through the oil drain hole from outside drain plug sealing surface to the baffle. It's NOT necessary to weld the baffle in 100%. We suggest you put 4 welds on the baffle in the locations shown in RED approximately 1/2" (12mm) to 3/4" (19mm) in length.
The Stainless Steel pick-up extension ring should be positioned so that it's flush at the top of the pick-up. Skip weld in several spots (shown in red). You will need to trim the length of the ring to the correct diameter to fit the outside of the pick-up correctly. They come in different sizes, so we supply a "one size fits all, trim to fit" ring. Weld the seam closed (shown in red).
